[/caption]I am planning a vacation to Costa Rica's Northwest Pacific beaches in July. What is the weather like in Guanacaste's Northwest Beaches in the rainy season? I hear it rains a lot at that time of the year.
Answer: No it does not rain a lot. Guanacaste is Costa Rica's driest province. During the rainy season in Costa Rica which is May through November, Guanacaste receives much less rain fall than the other areas of Costa Rica.
So what should I expect? In the mornings you will get the beautiful tropical sunshine. And in the afternoons a thunder storm which is great to watch. The bolts of lightening light up the sky like fireworks on the fourth of July. But these thunder storms are brief and in a sense they are welcomed to cool the air.
What is the temperature like? It is warm. And can get to 80F in mid day when the sun is overhead, but the afternoon showers ,although brief-cool things down. And the nights are very pleasant. Hotels on the NW Pacific beaches have air conditioning.
So you recommend the NW Pacific Beaches in the rainy season. Yes I recommend them. I don't think you will be disappointed.

ReplyDeleteHello, If you go to the NW Pacific Guanacaste beaches you can expect some thunder showers in the afternoon..but perhaps not every afternoon..you should get nice breezy sunny mornings.
ReplyDeleteIf you go further inland to say the Arenal area, it rains more...but all year round, it rains in Arenal..best to get up very early and enjoy the sun in the morning because by afternoon usually you get rain.

I'm going to visit Costa Rica (Guanacaste, Playa Matapalo) from the 4th of november till the 18th. What can I expect from the weather at this time of year?
ReplyDeleteWe are planning on going on a family vacation to one of the beach resorts in Guanacaste, we have a 2 1/2 year old in November i.e. November 6th to 13th.
ReplyDeleteWe are really confused to make the reservations or not due to the weather, will it be raining in second week of November or is it just some afternoon showers.

Rains less in November in the NW guanacaste beaches than in the rest of Costa Rica. However you may get afternoon showers. Go on your vacation, get out in the morning and enjoy and if it rains settle in and relax.

We have a lady who works here in the Travel Agency who is very familiar with the quality of the resorts and the beaches in the NW Guanacaste area. She has visited them.
